  Stephen Gilligan

Content

In this important new seminar, Dr. Gilligan presents a third generation of generative change work. The first generation was authoritarian, "knocking out" the conscious mind and programming the unconscious mind. The second generation respected the creative unconscious but not the conscious intelligence of the client. This third generation work emphasizes the exceptional and complementary intelligence of both the conscious and creative unconscious mind, and explores how to integrate the two into a deeper type of trance work that allows the "self to go beyond the self." In essence, each person learns how to "be their own Milton Erickson," to develop a skillful and effective relationship with the creative unconscious.

A general theoretical framework will be developed, allowing a practical use of a four step model of generative trance:

1. preparation

2. shifting to a higher state of consciousness

3. transformation

4. integrating the transformation into the real world

We will explore how this model can be used to develop exceptional states of consciousness where problems and symptoms can be resolved, and transformation and healing can occur. Each participant can expect to have deep and multiple generative trance experiences, both as a coach and a client.
